Tshwane S. - S.Panthers 97-49

Tshwane Suns stormed past Sowetho Panthers en route to the Final. Suns held Panthers to an opponent 21.5 percent shooting from the field compared to 53.1 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Panthers 71-28 including a 54-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Suns players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Panthers' players. They brought some defensive toughness making 10 blocks. DR Congolese power forward Emmanuel Shine (199-94) stepped up and scored 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners and Ludwig Gerdes (191-94) chipped in 7 points and 16 rebounds. At the losing side forward Yves Mulwisa responded with 20 points and forward Kabelo Kubayi (-96) scored 12 points and 7 steals. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.

KZ Marlins - Egoli Magic 53-70

Egoli Magic outgunned KZ Marlins to secure the Finals berth. Magic outrebounded Marlins 51-40 including 38 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Nkosinathi Sibanyoni who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points, 27 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks. Skhumbuzo Mthembu (188-95) contributed with 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Thomas Westermeyer (202-99) answered with 13 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Sibusiso Cele (175) added 11 points in the effort for Marlins. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
